Hey y'all! This is Caitlin and I would like to introduce you to one of the artists participating in this year's Holiday Arts Tour. Holiday Arts Tour is a little over a month away! Dorene Kordal is one of the very exciting artists to be featured at Chartreuse Pear. She received a BA in political science with a minor in art from Florida State University and later a Masters in Public Administration from Florida International University. Dorene is not a full time artist but keeps the arts close by planning administering an at risk poverty art program for fifth graders in the Lincoln Parish School System.

After using glass and bead for jewelry making, Dorene has switched to materials almost always involving fabric and felt. Textiles is her thing! She likes to elevate everyday objects such as eyeglass cases, wallets, i-pad cases, hair accessories, and grocery totes into something quirky and fun.
