Artoberfest Update

We have received confirmation of our first beer donations! Lazy Magnolia Brewery in Mississippi will be donating 3 brews, andMarsala Beverage in Monroe will be donating 4! These are not your average brews, so join us October 1 to taste the night away.

What is Artoberfest? NCLAC is organizing our first ever Artoberfest. In keeping with the traditional Oktoberfest in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, NCLAC’s Artoberfest will feature good music, good food, good beer, and good fun.

When and Where A premier fundraising event for the North Central Louisiana Arts Council, Artoberfest will take place October 1, 2010 in the Ruston Historic Firehouse.

Activities Beer-tasting will be the highlight of the evening. NCLAC is currently soliciting donations of beer from big-name Louisiana breweries, such as Abita, and from smaller, boutique breweries throughout Louisiana and the south.

Executive Director Leigh Anne Chambers said, “We want to offer local and area residents a taste of something new.”

With that goal in mind, NCLAC will also include a German Food Cook-off and a “Best of the Region” appetizer contest, including all the best bar food and appetizers from participating restaurants.

NCLAC is looking forward to an exciting, fun-filled evening, and we hope you will join us.

Tickets Tickets are $35 each for members ($45 each for non-members) and will go on sale August 16. For more information, please call 318-255-1450 or visit the NCLAC offices in the Dixie Center for the Arts between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

Per the Firehouse contract, tickets cannot be sold at the door, if there are remaining tickets the night of the event, they will be sold at the Dixie. Buy early though! Only 120 tickets will be sold.

What Your Ticket Does Your ticket does more than provide entry to an entertaining evening. Proceeds from this fundraiser will help promote the 13th Annual Holiday Arts Tour, a program with an estimated economic impact of $64,480 last year.
