Poetry Reading at Turbo Goat Oct. 28, 7-9 p.m.

Turbo Goat Bicycle Shop & Art Gallery, located at 301 N. Trenton St. in Ruston, will be hosting an open-mic poetry reading tomorrow night (Oct. 28) from 7-9 p.m. There will be light refreshments. Whether you would like to read poetry or just want to soak up the lyrical musings of some talented local writers, please come.

Ruston poet Ben Rogers is among the already committed readers. Colorado poet Karen Douglass (The Great Hunger) has called his poems "the lush fruit of persistence and belief in the power of words, their music and meaning, and their enduring influence on the heart."

According to Connor Johnson, who organized this inaugural reading, his hope is to create a monthly event. In my experience, writers inspire one another, so as a writer myself, I'm thrilled about the possibilties.

For more information, please contact Turbo Goat at 255-1538 or Connor at 479-225-0736.
