SAC Encounter

The countdown to Summer Arts Camps is on, with just 6 weeks until the first camp begins: Homer City Hall, June 20-24 at 9am. As a way for you to get to know our excellent teachers, I (Jessica Slaughter, Educational Coordinator) am featuring one teacher per week until the start of camps. This week's teacher encounter is with Janelle Eastwood.

Janelle is no stranger to NCLAC's camps, as she taught last year at the Homer site. She will be teaching in Farmerville this year, in the 3D art classes. Janelle holds a Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana Tech in English, Journalism and Spanish. She has an interesting background, including work in communication design, newpaper editing and reporting, and community service in Ecuador.

Janelle's visual art passions lie in book-binding, origami and the fiber arts of embroidery and sewing. She will be sharing some of these techniques with her lucky students! Janelle is currently an intern at the Wesley Foundation at Louisiana Tech.
