This Friday, April 27th, the Enterprise Center (509 W Alabama Ruston, LA) will be hosting an exhibit titled Fictional Truths featuring the works of the 2012 BFA photography students. The opening reception will be from 6-8pm. The exhibition will display several pieces from the following students: Kayla Anderson, Brooklyn Bain, Christelle Benade’, Amanda Bergeron, Cody Bryant, Michael Butler, Joseph Forsse, Brooke Humphreys, Dacia Idom, Jennifer Martin, and Kaitlin Sanson. This group of students has been preparing for this show since September of last fall. They will be showing us a wide variety of subject and media ranging from documentary to portraits and landscape, and from traditional prints to embroidery and book manipulation. Despite the extreme differences in each body of work, inspiration is commonly drawn from their reflections of their surroundings.
The exhibition is a representation of what these emerging artists have gained in experience and knowledge throughout their years at LA Tech. More frequently seen framed prints will be on display alongside books hanging off the walls and installation pieces. With the versatility of each student, it promises to be an entertaining show. The exhibition will be on display from April 27th through May 19th.
