In the Loop

There are several exciting events in store for us this week in Ruston. On Wednesday, April 18th at 7pm at the Enterprise Center, Jes Schrom will be giving an artist lecture. Thursday, April 19th, there will be a gallery opening at Louisiana Tech University featuring artworks by MFA students. There will be a lecture beginning at 5pm and the reception will be at 5:30pm. Also, this Saturday, April 21, the Joe Woods Wildwood Express Showcase concert will be at the Dixie Center for the Arts at 6pm. Jes Schrom's artist lecture: Process, Performance, Needles, and Guns is in conjunction with her exhibition, Connective Gestures, at the Enterprise Center. This Wednesday at 7 pm. You will also have a chance to check out the exhibit if you missed the opening.

The Point of Advent: MFA Thesis Exhibition showcases six emerging artists, all Master of Fine Arts candidates at Louisiana Tech University, in a group exhibition as they begin their professional career. Each of the artist’s work reflects the three years they have spent perfecting and mastering their individual craft. Drawing from personal influences, this show proves to be a manifestation of each artist’s pursuit for excellence. Photographs, paintings, prints and book-making round out this collection that will be exhibited. In conjunction with the show, there will be a lecture series. The schedule for the lecture series is as follows:

Thursday, April 19th, 5 pm: Ashley Feagin and Dan Snow Wednesday, April 25th, 5 pm: Tennille Paden and Adrian Dean Gipson Thursday, May 3rd, 5 pm: Caleb Clark and Rachul McClintic
