ARTS & SCIENCE CENTER FOR SOUTHEAST ARKANSAS The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas in Pine Bluff is pleased to announce the Irene Rosenzweig 2011 Biennial Exhibition. The exhibition will be on display at the Center from December 2, 2011 through February 4, 2012. The Rosenzweig is a juried exhibition. It has a long and illustrious tradition with The Arts & Science Center. Many prize winning artworks from past exhibitions have enriched the Center’s Permanent Collection. The Arts & Science Center is announcing the exhibition at this time so that you will have the opportunity to create artworks for the show over the summer. Entries in the form of CD-R images are due by September 30.

WEST BATON ROUGE MUSEUM Cathartic Art: Remembering 9/11
The West Baton Rouge Museum is inviting the public to submit original art works inspired by the events of September 11, 2001. The tenth anniversary of the tragic event in American history will be marked by a juried display of original art works. Applicatons to submit art work can be found at www.westbatonrougemuseum.com. Given the recent world events, the due date for submitting an application has been extended to May 17, 2011.
There will be monetary prizes awarded for lst, 2nd and 3rd place winners. There is also a special prize for the outstanding West Baton Rouge student entry winner.
If you cannot personally deliver your accepted art work, you may ship it to the museum at your own expense. When the exhibit is over, the museum staff will re-pack your art work in its original shipping materials. Please arrange for a prepaid shipper to pick up your art work from the museum. You must contact the museum’s Curator, Lauren Davis with all the shipping details prior to scheduling a pick up.This exhibit will run from July 23 through September 18, 2011. Visual Overture Magazine is accepting entries from emerging artists for the 'Spotlight on New Media' exhibition-in-print. Artist must submit portfolio showing final artworks that are the result of a dedicated practice to exploring new visual art media and technologies. Selected finalist will be featured in a one-page article showing 3-6 images of his/her work and a write-up about their innovative practice in the Fall 2011 issue of Visual Overture Magazine. Funky Fashion has brought out a new brand 'VICE69' and is calling for a state-wide art and design competition in worth of $2800. We are in search for young artists who are able to create designs for various items of apparel in the theme of VICE69. The winning prize will include an offer for an internship in the business giving the chance to collaborate with professional designers as well as a cash reward of $1500. 24th Annual Northern National Art Competition
Nicolet College & the Northern Arts Council announce a call to artists for a national juried art competition, July 26 - September 9, 2011 at the Nicolet College Art Gallery in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Awards: More than $8,500 total - including three $1,000 Awards of Excellence. Juror: Dennis Wojtkiewicz. Open to all artists 18 or older who are US residents. Each artist may submit one or two slides or jpgs of recent, original 2D (wall-hang-able) work in ANY medium including drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, fiber, mixed media and work that has some sculptural elements. There is no theme. We look for a well-rounded and varied contemporary exhibit. $30 for 1 - 2 images.
