Nude But Not Rude (Posted: 11/9/11) -- Linus Art Gallery in Pasadena, CA seeks entries for an exhibition. Nude Art can be vibrant, alluring, interpretative, a social statement, ugly and incredibly beautiful. Submit your artwork of the human form. All fine art nudes by artists worldwide will be considered for this Call for Artists from photography, to paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor and ink, graphite drawings, fabric work from quilts to stitchwork and any artwork that can be secured to our walls. Accepted artists will be asked to be a part of a collective show in future months. The Pollock-Krasner Foundation makes grants to painters, sculptors, and other visual artists working in two-dimensional media (excluding photographers) who demonstrate artistic merit and financial need. Opportunity: The Philanthropy Film Award Deadline: Monday, January 30, 2012 The Philanthropy Film Award includes a $5,000 prize to the film that best captures the impact of philanthropy on North Louisiana. The winning film will be picked by a jury of five individuals from the film and arts industry and the local community. The top three films will be screened at the Robinson Film Center in April 2012. Funding for Louisiana Filmmakers Application period: December 1 to January 1, 2012. The Louisiana Filmmakers Grant Fund Program is designed to support Louisiana’s independent filmmakers, who are vital to the state’s entertainment industry and the state’s long-term goals for an indigenous entertainment industry. Open to Louisiana residents with a consistent presence in LA for the last three years. Must be filmed 100% in Louisiana. Funding for Music: Guitar Center Deadline: Open. The Guitar Center Music Foundation’s mission is to support nonprofit music programs across America that offer instruction so that more people can experience the joys of making music. The Foundation accepts grant applications from music academies, schools, local music programs, and national music programs that teach people of any age who would not otherwise have the opportunity to make music. Online applications may be submitted at any time and are reviewed three times per year. Funding: Southern Arts Foundation Touring Deadline: Rolling. SAF Touring Grants: The Southern Arts Federation in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts offers Southern Fast Track Touring grants. This program, through its rolling deadline, is designed to offer Southern presenters more opportunities throughout the year to apply for fee support. Aimed at smaller presenters, the Southern Fast Track Touring program seeks to establish an active arts environment in underserved communities. This program offers fee support to present performing artists and writers from outside the presenter’s state. These grants are limited to presenting organizations with operating budgets of $100,000 or less. Applications must be postmarked 60 days prior to the project start date. The maximum request is 50% of the artist fee, up to $2,500. Touring support is awarded to theatre, music, opera, musical theatre, literary, and dance projects that contain both a public performance or reading AND an educational component. The Office of Cultural Development/Division of the Arts is accepting applications for a special initiative to directly support the work and careers of individual artists - Artist Career Advancement Grants.
Applications will be accepted through February 3, 2012 through our online grants system. Funds will be awarded in March for opportunities through June 15, 2012.
Grants of up to $3,000 are available for individual artists for Artist Career Advancement proposals in dance, design arts, folklife, literature, media, music, theatre, and visual arts and crafts for expenses, supplies, training and equipment directly related to creative and entrepreneurial endeavors.
