Rules/Requirements: The French Market District currently has a moratorium of new applicants in the categories of jewelry, candles, and fashion. We are particularly interested in painting, photography, and mixed media artists for Art in the Alley. FMC will review all applicants to determine the best fit as we develop this new weekly arts market, limited at this time to 12 artists a week. No fees will be required for this trial period of October-December for artists to display and sell. FMC will limit the first month of October to 12 artists each Sunday; based on turnout and success rates, we will expand if necessary. You must have a permit to sell your artwork in New Orleans. Artists must bring own tent/tables/chairs/signage. You do not need to commit to more than one Sunday, but we do encourage you to do so for consistency, i.e. to build an audience, get to know the area, etc. Artists will be assigned to a section of Dutch Alley based on tenant doorways/entrances, accessibility (i.e. near ramps from parking lot) and special events usage. Starting in January, we will begin to charge artists to rent at a fee TBD. French Market Corporation reserves the right to cancel the arts market due to extreme weather conditions and/or other emergencies. French Market Corporation reserves the right to turn away artists based on space availability (first come, first serve). We strongly encourage you to help us promote this new weekly happening! FMC needs your reservation for all October dates by Monday, September 26th (there are five Sundays in October…you can commit from #1-5). We will do a reminder each month for the following month.
