NCLAC is looking forward to next week’s #50@$50, our one-night only exhibition and reception that will be held at Ruston Artisans at 5:30pm on February 5. At $50 each, we will be displaying 50 original artworks that are no larger than 11”x17”. This will be our third year to present this exciting “small works” show, and if the previous two years are repeated, I encourage you to arrive early! When the doors open, these wonderful works will virtually fly off the wall. This is a special part of #50@$50: the artwork that is purchased at the reception can be taken home immediately!
The artists who were selected to participate this year areCara Beth Buie, Alexis Davis, Dianne Douglas, Christiane Drieling, Linda Dwyer, Maryam El-Awadi, Marion Folk, Hannah Fulton, Kit Gilbert, Frank Hamrick, Janice Holbron, Chlese Jiles, Bette Kauffman, Hooshang Khorasani, Mike Leblanc, Pankita Patel, Emily Pullin, Cinthia Rincon, Erik Martinez Rodriguez, Amanda Roe, Jessica Slaughter, Victoria Smith, Mashall Smith, Heather Blue Steele, Donna Strebeck, Hannah Taylor, and Markus Wobisch.
NCLAC’s Exhibitions Committee was tasked with viewing each of the digital submissions, and from these, the top 50 were selected to hang in the show. We’re proud to say that the number and quality of entries has grown each year, and we’re certain our audience next week will be pleased with the selection. The event is free and open to the public, and each of the pieces will be available for $50 plus the discounted cultural district sales tax rate.
