Art galleries, photography exhibits, independent films, and musicians have become a defining aspect of Ruston over the last several years. One of the lacked artistic events for Ruston has been film festivals. Film festivals have become a rapidly growing event, with over 8,000 festivals worldwide. One of those festivals will happen in Ruston this year! May 5-7, 2017 will hold the Kingdom Collectives Film Festival.
The Kingdom Collectives Film Festival will consist of Christian themed short films with a runtime between 5-30 minutes per film. Several films have been submitted from all over the world, including a few from Ruston. The selected films will be announced on the 12th of April and will follow a schedule to better plan your festival weekend. This information will be available on the festival’s website, linked here. At the festival, attendees will have the opportunity to vote on their top 3 favorite films. All votes will be counted up into a first, second, and third place for the People’s Choice Awards. The festival weekend will not only consist of films but will include worship, speaking, restaurant discounts, and opportunities for new ministries to have a voice.
