We are thrilled to announce the winners of The Bulldog Project!

What is The Bulldog Project??

The goal is to place ten large fiberglass bulldogs in ten locations throughout the city. These public art pieces will be painted by artists, and will provide a unique opportunity to engage the community with art in a fun, physical way.

The surface of these 3 feet tall bulldogs will be designed by artists who compete to have their design selected. Once the designs have been selected and the artists have completed the sculptures, the bulldogs will be placed in select locations throughout town. These will be noted on a “bulldog map” so residents and visitors
alike can make their way to each bulldog. The bulldogs will be another way to bridge city and university, showing Ruston’s culture as well as Louisiana Tech pride.

In two years, these first generation bulldogs will be auctioned, and the winning bidders can move the sculptures to another location. Funds from this auction will be used to fund future RCD projects. The purpose of the RCD Board of Directors is to help bring cultural events to Ruston on a continual basis.

Artists whose designs are selected will receive $200 upon acceptance, and $800 upon completion of the project. Make sure to keep up with the Bulldog Project installation and follow the Ruston Cultural District Facebook page.
Thanks to all of our artists who participated and our sponsors that made this project happen!
